A change part is only useful if it fits, seals evenly and keeps doing both after thousands of cycles. These are the material and inspection practices behind that.

01 Materials

Material chosen
for the duty

Material and heat treatment are confirmed with you at quotation stage. Where a customer specifies a grade, we work to it; where they do not, we recommend one against the part’s function and the wear it will see.

Tool and die steels
Used for cutting punches, dies and other parts that see repeated shear and impact. Hardened and tempered, then finish-ground to hold clearance over long runs.
Hardened and ground steels
Selected where a working face has to resist wear while staying flat, such as sealing platens and guide components carrying continuous load.
Stainless steels
Chosen for parts in or near the product path, where cleanability and corrosion resistance matter more than absolute hardness.
Aluminium alloys
Used where thermal behaviour and weight are the deciding factors, particularly on heated plate assemblies that need even heat distribution.

02 Inspection

What gets checked, and why

Each check below exists because of a specific way a change part can fail once it is on the machine.

  1. Against the drawing

    Critical dimensions are checked against the approved drawing before the part leaves the shop. Where we prepared the drawing from a sample, it is checked against the sample as well.

  2. Flatness and parallelism

    Forming and sealing faces are checked for flatness, because uneven contact across the web is the most common cause of seal defects and pocket variation.

  3. Clearance on matched sets

    Punch and die pairs are checked for clearance and marked as a set, so they stay matched through storage and refitting.

  4. Surface condition

    Working surfaces are inspected for finish, knurl or mesh pattern consistency and freedom from machining marks that would carry through to the pack.

  5. Fit and mounting features

    Mounting holes, dowel positions, heater bores and sensor pockets are verified so the part goes on the machine without rework at your end.

03 Standards & Documentation

Documentation with the parts

Parts are dispatched with the paperwork your stores and quality team need to receive them. Where a customer requires material certificates, hardness records or a dimensional report against the approved drawing, tell us at order stage and we will supply them with the consignment.

We do not claim quality accreditations we do not hold. Any certifications this company carries will be listed here, with issuing body and scope, once confirmed.
